Digital Content Strategist, Universities of Wisconsin (Madison, Wis.)

  • Creates and implements content strategies to promote online master’s, bachelor’s and certificate programs targeted toward adult learners.
  • Profiles students, faculty, and alumni, in addition to writing general news pieces and career outlooks to promote degree programs.
  • Publishes content to UW Extended Campus and UW Flexible Option websites using WordPress; maintains and updates program landing pages as needed with fresh student stories and other pieces as needed.
  • Works with the media team to interview students during photo and video shoots.

Communications Specialist, American Institute for Dental Public Health (Remote)

  • Managed AIDPH’s social channels, including writing content for posts appearing on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and brainstorming ideas for campaigns. Created social post graphics using Canva.
  • Served as content lead for monthly e-newsletter, including writing content pieces, designing email headers, building e-newsletter in MailChimp and distributing to target audience.
  • Wrote and edited content for AIDPH blog, website, and other marketing and scientific research materials as needed, including Veterans Oral Health reports.

Digital Communications Specialist, National Conference of Bar Examiners (Madison, Wis.)

  • Created and implemented NCBE’s first social media campaign and strategy. Managed all social platforms, including writing, editing, and creating content for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Assisted with the design of NCBE’s Testing Task Force website and the Next Generation Bar Exam website, and the overall development of NCBE’s new primary website, ncbe.org, including working with ad agency developers and creative team. 
  • Created and executed digital marketing strategy for the launch of NCBE’s study aids program, BarNow, in addition to serving as the content lead for product descriptions, store blog, and other landing pages appearing on NCBE’s e-commerce site. 
  • Maintained Google Analytics for all of NCBE’s websites, including managing Google Ads campaigns, Google Looker dashboards, and tag manager. 
  • Collaborated with outside PR counsel and communications team to execute new digital communication strategies, monitored news outlets for bar exam mentions (using Cision), and assisted communication team’s response to press inquiries.

December 2014-October 2018
Content Manager, UW-Madison Engineering Professional Development

  • Managed digital campaigns and PR for UW-Madison professor James Tinjum’s “Bike the Wind” and “Bike the Sun” solar projects. Interviewed Tinjum for several alternative energy news stories, and traveled to Cashton, Wis., where we climbed a wind turbine and I interviewed him about wind energy for a video news piece. 
  • Shot and edited video footage of student interviews, engineering field trips, and coursework in action using Adobe Premiere. 
  • Implemented digital content strategy and editorial calendar for the launch of the new EPD website. Published news stories about department faculty and accomplishments and mentored a team of news interns from UW-Madison’s journalism department. Interviewed and wrote stories about students and alumni and their experiences in the department.
  • Created EPD’s first-ever social media strategy and managed the department’s social channels, including writing, editing, and designing news content for Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram. Designed infographics and social posts using Infogram and Piktochart. 
  • Served as the content lead during the transition to EPD’s new website, including writing course descriptions for existing professional development short courses, landing pages, news pages, and other areas as needed. Assisted with user testing, implementation of Google Tag Manager, setting up goal conversions, analytics dashboards, publishing forms and landing pages, and other backend work. Worked with the marketing team to gain buy-in from department leadership and other stakeholders during the website transition.

  • Assisted Chief Marketing Officer to assist with the management of association communications, including public relations and marketing. Collaborated with outside public relations agencies to fulfill the company’s strategic goals surrounding consumer awareness. Helped execute AACD’s first makeover contest, The Smile Story Contest. 
  • Managed and wrote copy for print and online marketing campaigns surrounding AACD’s annual meeting and member benefits, including news stories for AACD’s bimonthly membership publication, Academy Connection, and weekly e-newsletter, eUpdate. Managed AACD’s email marketing campaigns and media relations with national and major consumer media outlets, resulting in placements in Vogue, the New York Times, Washington Post, New Beauty, and others. Assisted with research to track trends in the cosmetic dental industry. Increased AACD’s visibility through social media like Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter. Assisted AACD’s graphics and IT department with overall content management strategy for AACD’s website.

  • Wrote and edited content for CUNA’s online daily newspaper, News Now, including a series of three in-depth articles on credit unions and the challenges and concerns of using social networking to market to potential and current credit union members.
  • Covered events and speakers at CUNA’s annual Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, D.C., through live-blogging and live-tweeting. Accompanied various credit union groups as they met with constituents on Capitol Hill to generate content for stories appearing in News Now and other CUNA publications.
